Ally Olotu
Research
Ally Olotu is a research clinician working with Clinical Trial Facility. He has been the co-principal investigator in the RTS,S phase IIb trial as well as sub-investigator in phase III trial. Ally graduated with Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Dar es salaam, Tanzania. He worked with Aga Khan Hospital, Dar es salaam for one year before joining the program in 2005. In 2006/2007 Ally won a WHO/TDR Career Development fellowship award and did his post-graduate training in the field of Research and Development in Malaria vaccine at TDR, Switzerland and GSKBiologicals, Belgium. He is currently registered for a Doctor of Philosophy (Dphil) in Clinical Epidemiology at University of Oxford since 2010. Ally is investigating the long term efficacy of a candidate malaria vaccine (RTS,S) in young children living in malaria endemic country. He is also assessing the vaccine induced correlates of protection in immunized children. He is being supervised by Dr Philip Bejon, Prof. Kevin Marsh and Gregory Fegan.
