Research

 

Ambrose holds a Medical Degree and an intercalated B.Sc. in Medical Physiology from the University of Nairobi. After his internship in Bungoma District Hospital, he joined the Child & Newborn Health group of the KEMRI/Wellcome Trust Research Programme in January 2009 where he continues to work while pursuing an MSc. in Epidemiology with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

 

Currently he is involved in the design and subsequent running of a multi-centre clinical trial on antibiotic treatment of severe childhood pneumonia.

 

He is interested in the development of approaches to conducting pragmatic clinical research as a means to enhancing the generation and use of high quality evidence to direct health policy decision making in low income countries.
