Charles is an alumnus of the School of Pharmacy, University of Nairobi. He worked briefly in the public then private sector as a Pharmacist before joining KEMRI/Wellcome Trust Research Programme under the Child and Newborn Health Group in September 2007 as an Intern. He later won a Research Assistant position in the group which he holds to date.
He is currently part of a study team testing an approach to improve hospital care for children admitted to district hospitals in Kenya.
His interests include health systems performance assessment and measurement of the quality of care. He is also an avid computing enthusiast.
